Year in Review 2021
Would you like to make a difference for a family, a school, or a community? We are excited to review the happenings of the MAPS Foundation in 2021 and hope you will help us spread the word. First, the MAPS Foundation made virtual math nights available to families, schools and administrators.
We thank Thrivent Financial for sponsoring manipulatives for our April 13 Math Night which are now housed at our MAPS Math Library. The MAPS Math Library collection found a new home this year within the Southern Crescent Technical College Library. We thank Griffin Christian School and Southern Crescent Technical College students for assisting with the move.
Additionally, we enjoyed sharing about MAPS at the Thrivent Financial Nonprofit Spotlight. Our presentation about offering a virtual math night was likewise accepted for a National Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference. The MAPS blog about math tasks at home continues to reach families through facebook (See https://www.facebook.com/MathforAdultsFoundation), and our website www.mapsfoundation.com continues to provide free downloadable Math for Parents math night curriculum and handouts in English and Spanish.
Lastly, due to generous donors, we now offer matching grant funding for our math nights and virtual math nights. Please share the word to your local school and/or community groups! We thank all of our supporters and look forward to again strengthening families, schools, and communities in 2022.
Warmly,
Andrea Knapp, Ph.D.
